
TEMPLE FACTS - TEMPLE TOURS
In 1853, a lot on Broadway in North Beach was purchased to
build the first Temple Emanu-El building. In 1926, the current
Temple Emanu-El building was finished. Price tag: $1,300,000 for
lot and building.
There are 2,000 pieces of glass in each stained glass window
with over 200 different colors
The ark in the Main Sanctuary was commissioned, manufactured
in England, and exhibited in the Albert and Victoria Museum in
London before being shipped to San Francisco
Out of town relatives and guests will appreciate seeing and
hearing about this historical building.
Tours of the Temple with a trained docent are offered from 1:00
to 3:00 pm every Tuesday through Thursday. For other days, call
the Temple at (415) 751-2535 for a reservation.

COORDINATOR, YOUNG ADULT COMMUNITY
We are looking for a thoughtful, creative, and dynamic individual who
will work closely with clergy members and a committed leadership
committee to create, envision, implement and market our many programs
and events that serve Bay Area young Jewish people in their 20s and 30s.
This is a full time position and work load includes some weekends and
evenings, including two Shabbat services a month.
Bachelor's degree and at least two years work experience required.
