The Temple Emanu-El Preschool provides a safe, nurturing and supportive program in a Jewish environment.
Our Preschool promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth of young children while responding to the needs of the families in our community. The program emphasizes learning as an interactive process through a concrete, play-oriented approach with teachers who plan activities that are relevant to the children's lives. Children, 2-years-old through Pre-Kindergarten, are given the opportunity to explore, question, practice and pretend in order to discover the world around them. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum includes creative arts, dramatic play, science, cooking, large and small motor activities, music, language arts, outdoor play and Jewish values, traditions and holiday celebrations.

Thanks to a generous Emergency Grant from the Jim Joseph Foundation, the scholarship award process is being implemented in partnership with the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties; the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley; the Jewish Community Federation of the Greater East Bay, and the Bureau of Jewish Education. The Jim Joseph grant will enable families to keep their children in Jewish preschools, day schools, and Jewish overnight summer camps throughout the Bay Area.
