JUTTA BARUTH
Jutta Baruth has been involved with Jewish education for many years. She has taught Hebrew and Judaic Studies at Brandeis Hillel Day School, Lowell High School, and Congregation Emanu-El. In addition, she has been a General Studies teacher in various schools, as well as the Department Chairperson and Hebrew/Judaic Studies Curriculum Coordinator at Congregation Emanu-El.
Back in the l980s, besides enjoying her work, Jutta was busy raising her two children. She realized during that time that new parents needed a place to come, relax and learn about raising children; to think about what kind of Jewish home they were going to build and to ask themselves what kind of values were important to them. As a result, Jutta helped to create Building Blocks and Stepping Up, which provide this warm sense of community for parents with young children. Jutta has been directing, facilitating and enjoying Building Blocks and Stepping Up since the programs began.
