June 13, Nancy Goldberg - Advocacy
Nancy currently serves as Vice President of the board of Jewish Family
and Children's Services of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin,
and Sonoma Counties. She is the chairperson of the Public Issues
Committees, which focus on advocacy for the agency.
Nancy also serves as the Chairperson for the Jewish Public Affairs
Committee of California (JPAC), which represents over 20 Jewish
organizations such as the JCRCs, the Federations, JFCS agencies, and
many others around the state.

July 18, David Goldstein - Business and the Environment
David B. Goldstein has worked on energy efficiency and energy policy
since the early 1970s. He currently co-directs NRDC's Energy Program.
He is the author of Saving Energy, Growing Jobs: How Environmental
Protection Promotes Economic Growth, Profitability, Innovation and
Competition
Dr. Goldstein has been instrumental in the development of energy
efficiency standards for new buildings and appliances that are currently
in effect at the regional and national level in the United States, Russia,
Kazakhstan, and China, and received a MacArthur Fellowship in
2002.

July 25, Marc Gold - Grassroots Philanthrophy
Marc's project, 100 Friends, began in 1989, when he visited India for
the first time. There he met a Tibetan woman in the Himalayas who
had terrible ear infections, and he was able save her life with antibiotics
that cost about $1.00. For another $30 he purchased a hearing aid
that restored her hearing.
100 Friends has been able to provide assistance to thousands of
needy people in many countries. Marc has now completed twelve
humanitarian missions and dispensed over $150,000 directly into the
hands of needy people all over the world.

August 1, Sherri Morr - Israel and the Environment
Sherri has been with Jewish National Fund since 1998, initially as a
major gifts director in Los Angeles, and then as a zone director for
the Western United States. In many ways her success is attributed to
strategic fundraising planning, staff team building, and the ability to
develop and maintain long term lay leadership relationships.
Sherri completed her masters in Jewish Communal Service at Hebrew
Union College (HUC) in 1976 and was awarded an honorary doctorate
in 2002. Her undergraduate work focused on public speaking and
group dynamics

August 15, Alan Rothenberg - Global Jewish Giving
Alan Rothenberg was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, and received
an BA in Economics from Kenyon College and an MBA in Urban
Affairs from the University of Chicago before moving to San Francisco
in 1969.
He is President of Huret, Rothenberg & Co., an investment banking
firm. Active in numerous community organizations, Rothenberg is a
Trustee of Kenyon College, a board member of the Joint Distribution
Committee, Mercy Housing and the Mt. Zion Health Fund, and is past
President of the Jewish Community Federation.
