Congregation Emanu-El is a leader in San Francisco Bay Area activism to end the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. Since 2003, at least 400,000 people have died, and more than 3 million (of a population of 6 million) have been displaced from their homes. Rabbi Mintz was a featured speaker at the "Darfur Day of Conscience" rally in April 2006. Our members regularly spread awareness within the community, join in political advocacy and fundraise for humanitarian aid for Darfur. Every individual's participation in this multinational grassroots movement makes a difference. If you would like to join, please send an email to tkraus@emanuelsf.org asking to be added to the Darfur advocacy list. Thank you.

TENTS OF HOPE- COMMUNITIES CREATING CONSCIOUSNESS!
Join us on a journey of hope and compassion as we design and paint a simulated refugee tent in our community to create awareness and support for the people of Darfur, Sudan. It's our hope that this tent will serve as a doorway to YOUR concrete action. It's our hope that this tent will help lead to the advocacy necessary to stop the genocide in Darfur.
