THANK YOU!
A special thanks to congregant Bruce Spiegelman and Western Textile for their generous donation of over 1,000+ canvas bags to Congregation Emanu-El. Western Textile is a third generation family firm that practices sustainability principles in the fabrication of organic canvas bags, nylon bags, cotton and velvet draw-string bags, and accessories.
The bags are being used by both our Healthy Children's Pantry at Cobb School and by the Saturday morning pantry at St. John's Church.
COBB SCHOOL HEALTHY CHILDREN PANTRY
The Dr. William L. Cobb School Healthy Children Pantry, located at 2725 California Street (at Divisadero), provides free supplemental groceries to over 75 low-income children and their families. Each Monday volunteers set up and distribute food. Shifts are available from 2-5:30 PM. This event occurs every week and approximately 4 volunteers are needed. Please contact Sandy Rechtschaffen, Social Justice Coordinator, at (415) 751-2541 x 177 or email at sandyr@emanuelsf.org to do your part.

With the ever increasing cost of food prices, people are finding it harder to make certain choices about how they spend their incomes. ABC News visited Dr. William Cobb Food Pantry on Tuesday, April 1, to interview how pantry clients are making it through these tough times. We found that having the weekly pantry available is truly helping many families make it from week to week.
