HUNGER AND POVERTY

 

Recipients for Leftover Food Donations:

1.  G-House 6324 Geary Boulevard between 27 and 28 Avenue 415.673.0911 x 601. Ring their doorbell and someone is always there to accept.

2.  Food Runners: To donate food in San Francisco, package it and leave a message on 415.929.1866 with the type and amount of food and the name and address or your business. If you call in the morning a volunteer or our truck driver will come that same day. If you call in the afternoon, Food Runners will come the next morning. Any amount of food is welcome. If you have food to donate that you personally prepared in your home, you can contact Food Runners and they will tell you where you can take the food in your neighborhood. PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT
Offered every other month, Project Homeless Connect helps San Franciscans experiencing homelessness to plug in to much needed services all under ONE roof!

SAN FRANCISCO FOOD BANK
The Food Bank provides donated and purchased food to over 500 non-profit agencies, enabling them to give nutritious meals or supplemental groceries to thousands of low-income families and individuals in our community.

ROOSEVELT HEALTHY CHILDREN PANTRY
Congregation Emanu-El shops at the San Francisco Food Bank and then provides these free supplemental groceries to over 75 low-income children and their families.

FREE FARM GARDEN
This is Congregation Emanu-El's vegetable garden used to grow food for the San Francisco Food Bank. First Sunday of Each Month- August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7 and December 5 (weather permitting).

FOOD DRIVE
Congregation Emanu-El participates in collecting food for the San Francisco Food Bank on a year-round basis.

INTERFAITH SHELTER FEEDINGS
Congregation Emanu-El joins in this annual mitzvah by providing volunteers to shop, cook and serve for 8 nights each year. We provide over 100 men with a home-cooked meal.
