Rabbi Asher Lectures

Rabbi Joseph Asher served Congregation Emanu-El with dignity and distinction from 1968-1985. In 1993, a fund established to honor his memory as a scholar and a humanitarian, sponsors an annual lecture at Temple Emanu-El.

2006: Dr. John Stoessinger is an internationally recognized political analyst and a prize-winning author of ten leading books on world politics. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard and has taught at Harvard M.I.T., Columbia and Princeton. From 1967 to 1974, he served as acting director of the political affairs division at the United Nations. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and lectures extensively throughout the world.
