The mission of the Leadership Emanu-El program is to provide congregation members with an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of non-profit management and leadership.

It is the program's primary goal to give congregants the knowledge, skills, and exposure necessary to become congregational leaders. In so doing, the Leadership Emanu-El program supports the Temple's mission to sustain life-long involvement in the Temple community and the Jewish community.

We do this by:

• Educating members about the history, ritual practices, customs and beliefs of Reform Judaism
  
  
• Providing a comprehensive background of Jewish agencies within the San Francisco Bay Area
  
  
• Educating members about the history of Temple Emanu-El
  
  
• Imparting an understanding of the financial and administrative management of the Temple through a focus on bylaws and governance as well as financial and budgetary matters
  
  
• Providing an overview of the programs Temple Emanu-El presently offers
  
  
• Furnishing an understanding of the roles and functions of committees, including those currently operating at Temple Emanu-El
  
  
• Imparting the skills and knowledge necessary to take leadership positions within the congregation
