Youth & Family Education/Adolescent Education
The Congregation Emanu-El Youth and Family Education/Adolescent Education Program is committed to the transmission of Reform Jewish traditions and values to our students through formal and informal supplementary educational programs.
Our Congregation and student body reflect the diverse religious, cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic background of our metropolitan area. We strive to provide a positive Jewish identity and a personal understanding of the history, mission, and social conscience of the Jewish people, while appreciating that diversity and respecting each student.
Our ultimate goal is that the teaching of Judaism, as learned and experienced in our program, will imbue our daily acts with the highest of Jewish values. Our educational programs embrace the rabbinic dictum, upon three things the world stands: on Torah, on Prayer and Spiritual Growth, and On Acts of Loving Kindness.
Therefore, as a Reform Jewish Institution, we strive to achieve the following goals: To bring the Torah into our lives through the study of its language, concepts, ideals, and values; to foster prayer and spiritual growth as individuals and as a Reform Jewish community through creative worship, celebrations of Shabbat and festivals, and personal introspection; and to teach and practice acts of Loving Kindness as we actively pursue the welfare of our families, our community, our country, Israel, and the world.
