JBOB (Jewish Babies of the Bay)  

We are a group of parents with pre-preschool children who are members of Congregation Emanu-El.  We gather together to build Jewish community and experience Jewish rituals and holidays together. Come join us to connect with other families and to make new friends for you and your little one.

Individuals in their 50s and 60s Havurah

This event will be in Board Room unless otherwise noted

Are you in your 50s and 60s and looking to take part in monthly activities such as Shabbat dinners, hikes, urban events, discussions, and holiday get-togethers? Then the “Individuals in their 50s and 60s” Havurah is the place for you.

Cooking For Congregants 

The first and second Thursday of each month from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, unless otherwise noted, Emanu-El Kitchen 

Participate in this mitzvah led by congregant and former restaurant owner, Gail Laghi. Gail has volunteered to run a two-hour cooking session with up to ten congregant volunteers to make meals for congregants in need, either facing a recent illness, death, or birth. Preschool parents are invited to cook on the first Thursday of the month, while all congregants are invited to help out on the second Thursday of the month. The Stories of Your Life: A Guided Autobiography and Life Review Writing Group

The first Monday of each month from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, unless otherwise noted, Congregation Emanu-El

Join a group of older adult peers (60 and better!) to explore, share and preserve your unique life. Get to know yourself and others better. The writing will mostly be done outside of group time and shared, if chosen, in a safe and structured way. Facilitated by fellow congregant, LCSW, Geriatric Social Worker, mother, and writer, Nancy Alpert. Please feel free to bring a brown bag lunch. Join the Temple’s Scrabble Group and play a rousing game or two. Perfect your word skills and expand your social circle. Enjoy playing Mah Jongg? Come and join us! Arrive by 6:30 if you have any questions. Play goes by 7:00 pm and lasts till 9:00 pm. Open to players at all levels from beginners to expert, but they must be able to play as there will be no teaching at this time.
