RECORDINGS OF EMANU-EL
In 1996, Cantor Roslyn Barak released her first CD, "The Jewish Soul". It presents a wide range of music including prayers, folk songs, Yiddish songs, and settings of liturgy by Ravel and Weill. The CD has been distributed throughout the world and is available here at Temple Emanu-El or through various Jewish music distributors, as well as Amazon.com. The recording received acclaim in the press and has enjoyed wide success.
The two most recent recordings are "Libi B'Ma'arav" and "Hallel V'Zimrah".
The former includes our commissioned works by Michael Isaacson (Havdalah)
and Ami Aloni (Isaiah's Consolations) as well as "Miriam's Song" by Jill
Higgins. The latter is music regularly presented in worship here at
Temple Emanu-El's main services, and features Kol Emanu-El, our adult
volunteer choir, alongside the Temple Emanu-El professional choir, and organist Charles Rus.
Tapes and compact discs are also available of prayers and blessings, as
well as melodies of our alternate Minyan service, featuring musical
soloist Marsha Attie.
