Have you ever seen those people with the big name tags at Temple Emanu-El Late Shabbat services and other events?
These volunteers make up the Temple Emanu-El Young Adult Leadership Committee. Message from the 2008-2009 Co-Chairs. They work with the Rabbis and other temple staff on events or programs that help educate, involve and bring together
the community.
A lot happens every month on this community's calendar and each event depends on several dedicated volunteers. Young Adult Leadershipcommittee members serve one-year terms and are required to attend many services, meetings and events in that time.
You can volunteer to join this committee. There are a few requirements, though:
- You must be a Temple Emanu-El member.
- You must be able to show a track record of dedicated volunteerism.
- You must be available for Late Shabbat services, monthly meetings and events.
- You must be able to laugh indulgently at the bureaucratic fumbling of your fellow committee members.
- You must be able to dream big while working hard.
- And you must never stop working toward the betterment of this community. Really.
The rewards are amazing and can't be described, only experienced.
