Tot Shabbat – (9/2/2022)

ALL kids 6 and under, their adults and older siblings are welcome, free of charge. We’ll start with a simple kid’s dinner & teen-led activities at 5:00 pm in our beautiful courtyard. Then, join us in the Martin Meyer Sanctuary for a fun and community building 30-minute service from 5:30 6:00 pm.

You don’t need to be an Emanu-El member, know Hebrew, understand Shabbat, or be familiar with synagogues. Just come with your kids and have a good time, we’ll teach you the rest.

Registration required, preferably in advance but, if unable to register, please come and we will take your information at the gate.  

To best ensure we can provide a safe and sacred experience, please note the following: 

  • Advance registration is required. If for any reason you are not able to register in advance, you are still welcome to attend and we will take care of registration at the gate.
  • Please have your proof of vaccination and ID ready before approaching the front gate at Emanu-El. All individuals ages 5+ must show proof of vaccination. All ineligible for vaccination must provide proof of negative Covid test within 24 hours of the event.
  • Masking is voluntary.
  • Please review our COVID-19 on-site event protocols so you’ll know what to expect. We're so excited to welcome you back into our beautiful sanctuary.

We understand rules and norms are changing quickly. Our COVID advisory team continues to monitor legal requirements and best practices and may change requirements as the environment changes.

Join us for In-Person Friday Night Elul Shabbat Services this Friday, September 2nd at 6:00 pm!

For the month of Elul we are using a special prayerbook.

To best ensure we can provide a safe and sacred experience, please note the following: 

  • Advance registration is required. If for any reason you are not able to register in advance, you are still welcome to attend and we will take care of registration at the gate.
  • Please have your proof of vaccination and ID ready before approaching the front gate at Emanu-El. All individuals ages 5+ must show proof of vaccination. All ineligible for vaccination must provide proof of negative Covid test within 72 hours of the event.
  • Masks are required for services taking place, indoors, at Emanu-El. During services and lifecycle events, all those on the bimah may unmask.

HHD 2022 – S’lichot Program and Service
Sep 17 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Join Emanu-El in partnership with ACT and Grace Cathedral for a reading of short plays written by Ukrainian theatre artists. This evening is part of a worldwide effort to support Ukraine and the artists whose lives have been upended and destroyed by the war with Russia. Cantors Arik Luck and Marsha Attie will offer Ukrainian songs in counterpoint.

All donations go to the Ukrainian Playwrights for their contributions to this evening’s performance. Please note: Program material includes explicit language and may not be appropriate for children under 12.

HHD 2022 – The Tribe for Men: Mikvah with Rabbi Bauer

The High Holy Days are a time where we open ourselves up and look deep inside our souls to examine who we have been and who we want to be. We confront who we are and what we can change, as well as what we cannot control.

Join Rabbi Ryan Bauer and your fellow Tribesmen (male-identifying only) for this morning of spiritual exploration and preparation. We will meet at Baker Beach for a short meditation followed by our mikvah in the ocean at dawn! Bring warm clothes, a towel and an appetite for a nosh afterwards!

Rosh Hashanah is a time of reflection, return and new beginnings. Please join us for our beautiful annual ritual of mikvah including meditation, chanting and immersion in the incredible Pacific Ocean at Baker Beach. Please bring warm clothes, a towel and an open heart. Our 8:30 am mikvah is for female-identified community members.
