Shabbat Service

Join us for In-Person Shabbat Services this Friday, October 14th at 6:00 pm!

Led by Rabbi Jason Rodich with Cantor Marsha Attie.

To best ensure we can provide a safe and sacred experience, please note the following: 

  • Advance registration is required. If for any reason you are not able to register in advance, you are still welcome to attend and we will take care of registration at the gate.
  • Full vaccination status is required for those eligible when participating in our programs (including booster for those eligible). Consistent with city, state, CDC and other public health authority guidance, COVID-19 vaccines are the most important and effective tool in preventing COVID-19 disease, especially severe illness and death.
  • Masking is optional at all services and events taking place inside Emanu-El or for outdoor events, including in the courtyard
  • For those ineligible for vaccination, testing is required within 24 hours of the event (rapid antigen or PCR).
  • Although masks are not required, we understand that many people will continue to mask for a variety of reasons. We fully support those who choose to mask and invite all in our community to act in a spirit of non-judgmental kindness as we navigate this landscape together.
  • Please review our COVID-19 on-site event protocols.
  • We, along with our COVID-19 Advisory Team, will continue to monitor case rates in San Francisco and other important factors and respond to the changing circumstances accordingly.
  • Our services will continue to be held virtually, on our Livestream page and Facebook Live.

October Late Shabbat Sukkot Party

Friday, October 14th at Congregation Emanu-El 

Join the Young Adult community of Congregation Emanu-El for a special Sukkot edition of Late Shabbat! We'll be partying under the sukkah with cider from Ethic Ciders, Mediterranean food, Israeli music, and more! Come shake the lulav and welcome in the beautiful harvest festival of Sukkot with friends.

A festive evening of community-building, spiritual connection, and incredible music. 

Schmoozing and wine start at 8pm / services begin at 8:30pm / oneg with food, drinks, and music follows at 9:45pm until 11:00 pm. 

If you are looking to connect with other 20s & 30s in the Bay Area Jewish community, this is the place for you! 

Bring your mask, your vax card, and your best friends. 

COVID safety precautions & requirements for attending

  • Advance registration is required. 
  • At this time, masks are required for services taking place indoors at Emanu-ElMasks are not required for outdoor events, including in the courtyard.
  • Full-vaccination, for those who are eligible, are required for ALL Emanu-El events. Please have your proof of vaccination and ID ready before approaching the front gate.
  • For those who are ineligible for vaccination, we are accepting PCR or rapid test results.
  • All clergy have been vaccinated and are routinely tested.
  • No food or drink inside.
  • Please note that this is an event for Young Adults in their 20s and 30s.

Join us for In-Person Shabbat Morning Services in our Martin Meyer Sanctuary along with one of our b'nei mitzvah celebrants!

  • Service will be in the Martin Meyer Sanctuary. 
  • Advance registration is required. If for any reason you are not able to register in advance, you are still welcome to attend and we will take care of registration at the gate.
  • Proof of vaccination is no longer checked at the front gate.
  • Masks are optional indoors.
  • Please review our COVID-19 on-site event protocols so you’ll know what to expect. We're so excited to welcome you back to into our beautiful sanctuary.

Yizkor Service

Join Cantor Attie in the courtyard from 3:00-3:30 pm for a Yizkor (Remembrance) memorial service, which is recited on the eighth day of Sukkot (Shemini Atzeret). It is said by every person who has lost a parent or other loved ones.

Simchat Torah Parade and Celebration
Oct 16 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Rejoice with us as we mark the conclusion of the annual cycle of public Torah readings and the beginning of a new cycle! We will meet at the staircase at 8th Avenue and Lake Street for a festive parade with the Torah, as we return to our courtyard for music and revelry. It’s the perfect celebration for all ages! Light dinner will be served.

Marin Gathering

Join Rabbi Jonathan for our first Marin Gathering as we discuss a topic of recent note and meet at Book Passage Bookstore & Cafe (51 Tamal Vista Boulevard, Corte Madera) from 4:30 – 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 20.

This month Rabbi Jonathan will engage in a discussion of the Yom Kippur sermons that focused on what Judaism considers concerning what happens after we die. We will look at texts, share, and if you purchase from the booth, have some snacks.
