Shabbat Morning Service – A. Menger-Thau & C. Brown (Main)

Join us for In-Person Shabbat Morning Services in our Main Sanctuary along with one of our b'nei mitzvah celebrants! 

To best ensure we can provide a safe and sacred experience, please note the following:

 

  • Service will be in the Main Sanctuary. 
  • Advance registration is required. If for any reason you are not able to register in advance, you are still welcome to attend and we will take care of registration at the gate.
  • Proof of vaccination is no longer checked at the front gate.
  • Masks are optional indoors.
  • Please review our COVID-19 on-site event protocols so you’ll know what to expect. We're so excited to welcome you back to into our beautiful sanctuary.

Men’s Group Meeting – June 11, 2023

Dear Gentlemen of the El,

 

Please join me on Sunday, June 11th from 9:30am – 11:00am for our Men’s Group gathering. We will meet at the home of a temple member.

 

Enjoy coffee and bagels and a chance to study together. After this meeting, we will take a break for the summer (with no meetings in July and August). We will then meet again in September.

 

Venue location will be provided upon registration.

June Mishpachot Meet-Up

Time: 10:30 am

Meeting Frequency:  Third Friday of the Month, locations will vary.

Join us for a monthly neighborhood meet-up at various coffee shops around San Francisco! This is a chance for families to come together and connect with each other and Emanu-El. We'll discuss Judaism, child-rearing, and our lives, while also enjoying some coffee and pastries. This is also an opportunity for parents to share their hopes and dreams for family programming at Emanu-El, so we can better serve our community. Come join us for some meaningful conversations and new friendships!

**Children/Babies are welcome to join us.

****Space Limited: We're limiting each meet-up to 10 parents in order to create a more intimate atmosphere and foster deeper connections.

Shabbat Service (6/16/23)

Led by Rabbi Ryan Bauer with Cantor Marsha Attie.

To best ensure we can provide a safe and sacred experience, please note the following: 

  • Advance registration is required. If for any reason you are not able to register in advance, you are still welcome to attend, and we will take care of registration at the gate.
  • Full vaccination status is required for those eligible when participating in our programs (including booster for those eligible). Consistent with city, state, CDC and other public health authority guidance, COVID-19 vaccines are the most important and effective tool in preventing COVID-19 disease, especially severe illness and death.
  • Masking is optional at all services and events taking place inside Emanu-El or for outdoor events, including in the courtyard.
  • For those ineligible for vaccination, testing is required within 24 hours of the event (rapid antigen or PCR).
  • Although masks are not required, we understand that many people will continue to mask for a variety of reasons. We fully support those who choose to mask and invite all in our community to act in a spirit of non-judgmental kindness as we navigate this landscape together.
  • Please review our COVID-19 on-site event protocols.
  • We, along with our COVID-19 Advisory Team, will continue to monitor case rates in San Francisco and other important factors and respond to the changing circumstances accordingly.
  • Our services will continue to be held virtually on our Livestream page and Facebook Live.

Rafting Adventure with YALC (with optional camping)

Calling all adventurers! Are you looking for a super full day of whitewater rafting on a river that’s just packed with fun, excitement, and thrills? Join Emanu-El's Young Adult Community for an incredible Rafting Experience.

Together, we will raft the South Fork of the American River (Whole River, Class II and Class III), California's premier rafting river located in the heart of Gold Country. Perfect for nervous first-timers and experts alike, this is one experience you won't want to miss.

Register and pay today to confirm your spot, we only have room for 18 rafters!

Important Details Below:

-> Rafting Start Time: 8:30AM on June 17th in Coloma, CA (50 miles from Sacramento)

-> FREE CAMPING the evening of June 16th is included with your registration. The rafting company also has rentals available for tents etc.

-> We will send information on carpooling once spots are confirmed (with the option to arrive Friday, June 16th OR leave the bay area at 5:30am on Saturday, June 17th to arrive on time for rafting).

-> We will be rafting with American Whiter Water Expeditions, your raft day includes a delicious lunch on the River!

Once you have signed up and paid for your spot, please fill out this Google Form for further important information and to help us keep track of attendees' location, carpool needs, plans to camp, etc.
