Malcolm Hoenlein has been the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations since June 1986. He is the founding executive director of the Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. Mr. Hoenlein delivered this lecture on January 23, 2019.

On March 6, 2012, Congregation Emanu-El welcomed the President of the State of Israel on the occasion of his historic Bay Area visit. His Excellency Shimon Peres spoke on Israel and the Jewish People: The Vision for Tomorrow

This historic evening was hosted for our community by Congregation Emanu-El and was co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Community Federations of San Francisco, the East Bay and Silicon Valley and the Board of Rabbis of Northern California in cooperation with the Consulate General of Israel to the Pacific Northwest.
