Shabbat Dinner with Sigal Kanotopsky

7:30 pm

This Dinner Event is at Maximum Capacity

A Special Shabbat Dinner after Services!

Following Shabbat services, those looking to continue the conversation with Sigal Kanotopsky are welcome to join us for dinner and hear more about the Beta Israel story. We will also be joined by a representative from Struggle to Save Ethiopian Jewry (SSEJ) and learn about their humanitarian aid efforts in Ethiopia.

Sigal's story is truly remarkable. She is the first Ethiopian Israeli to hold a regional position for the Jewish Agency and has dedicated her career to ensuring young Ethiopian Israelis overcome the hurdles of negative stereotypes in Israeli society.

Born in a small village in Ethiopia, Sigal made aliyah with her family at age five, having walked three months to meet the flight that took them to Israel. Today, she has a B.A. in International Relations from the Hebrew University and an M.A. in Dispute Resolution and Management from Tel Aviv University. In 2022, Sigal was featured as one of the Jerusalem Post's 50 Most Influential Jews.

Dinner will take place in St. John's Church, across the street from Emanu-El.

There is no cost for the dinner, but space is limited. Only those who register in advance will be able to attend. This dinner is limited to Emanu-El members only.
