Friends of the Urban Forest Volunteer Day – February 23 2019
YALC will be joining Friends of the Urban Forest to help neighborhood homeowners plant trees in Bayview. FUF will supply the tools, guidance, and even coffee and bagels before hitting the streets. We'll regroup after planting for a potluck/refreshments provided by the property owners. Wear work clothes and bring water to stay hydrated. Exact meeting location will be sent within the week of the event. Planting takes place rain or shine!
Friends of the Urban Forest’s mission is to promote a larger, healthier urban forest as part of San Francisco’s green infrastructure through community planting, tree care, education, and advocacy. This "green infrastructure" improves the city by beautifying neighborhoods, cleaning the air, and reducing polluted stormwater runoff. Since 1981, FUF has brought communities together to plant more than 60,000 trees, totaling almost half of the city's street tree canopy.
We will email you the location the week of the event.
Registration closes February 21 at 4pm
