Transportation Assistance for Seniors in San Francisco on High Holy Days
In partnership with the Jewish Community Federation, Congregation Emanu-El is again offering to subsidize half of the cost of transportation for elderly and disabled San Francisco resident members. We are offering transportation for the elderly and disabled with the assistance of SilverRide for the evening Classic services and Yizkor. At the end of Yom Kippur, the brief service of Havdalah will be held before the Break Fast in the Courtyard, and you will have time to participate.
All services will be in the Main Sanctuary. Our transportation provider is SilverRide, a company that specializes in transportation for older adults. SilverRide will arrange pickups times so that you will arrive at Temple approximately 45 min. to one hour before services begin. We will make every effort to ensure that members are escorted into the Main Sanctuary by our volunteer ushers and seated in an appropriate general seating area.
We are requesting a donation of $25.00 per person per service for the round trip, which represents a small portion of the actual expenses incurred for this effort.* We welcome your additional contributions.
For more information please contact Director of Membership Services Terry Kraus, (415) 750-7552.
* The balance of the SilverRide transportation cost is shared by Congregation Emanu-El and the Jewish Community Federation.
