HHD 2021 – S’lichot Festival Service (8/28/2021)
Congregation Emanu-El, 2 Lake Street, San Francisco, CA
S’lichot is the first gathering where the High Holiday Season begins in earnest. In the traditionally late evening service, the melodies, some specific only to the S’lichot service itself, are some of the most beautiful, rich songs that our tradition has to offer. The Torah covers are also ceremoniously changed to all white, representing new beginnings for the new year. The evening will end with the sounding of the shofar, and our very first opportunity to say “L’shana Tova” as a community.
*This service is open to members and the entire community, as well as livestreamed. Registration is required.
