MLK Service Day: Food Delivery
This MLK day, join Congregation Emanu-El and Repair the World for a day of service and learning as we shed light on the topic of food justice!
Sign up for a volunteer spot between 12-3pm on Monday, January 18, as we rescue and deliver food in partnership with Food Runners, a local organization that diverts 17 tons of food that would otherwise be wasted to people in need each week. This opportunity delivers meals to soup kitchens, group homes, and low-income senior apartments. The deadline for signing up is Thursday, January 14.
COVID Protocol: Volunteers are asked to exit their cars to quickly load the food in and out, complying with all current city-mandated COVID guidelines. Masks are required and gloves will be provided. Entirely contactless options are possible, and these can be arranged when the Food Runners coordinator confirms details with you the Friday before this opportunity.
This opportunity is part of our 34th Pulpit Exchange in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Join us Friday-Monday, January 15-18 for a weekend of festive music, worship, sermon and multiple opportunities for digital interaction between the members of Congregation Emanu-El and Third Baptist Church, that is both safe and warm.
