Resiliency Series: Navigating Bereavement and Loss (3/3/2021)
Navigating Bereavement and Loss
Led by Rabbi Sarah Joselow Parris
Co-facilitated by Rabbi Eric Weiss and Susan Moldaw
March 3, 7:00-8:30 pm
Grief often leaves us speechless, grasping for words to express our deepest reflections. Poetry and other creative writing can help us find words at a time of great tenderness. Join us for an evening of reflecting on grief and Jewish wisdom that can be found in poems and story. Rabbi Sarah Joselow Parris is joined by Rabbi Eric Weiss (CEO, Bay Area Jewish Healing Center) and author and Emanu-El congregant, Susan Moldaw. The series is free to Temple Members and $10.00 per class to non-Members. You can create your own path, by signing up for individual courses, or multiple. You are welcome to enjoy your dinner or a snack while participating in the class.
Rabbi Eric Weiss is CEO/President of Bay Area Jewish Healing Center. He is co-founder of Grief and Growing ™: A Healing Weekend for Individuals and Families in Mourning and Kol Haneshama: A Jewish End of life/Hospice Care Volunteer Program.
Susan Moldaw trained and worked as a chaplain at California Pacific Medical Center, where she received CPMC’s ACE award for excellence in service. A longtime congregant, she worked as Congregation Emanu-El’s first lay Jewish chaplain. Her writing has been published in literary journals and anthologies, and J. The Jewish News of Northern California.
