The Gold(berg) Rush with Judi Leff (Day Time)
Gold(Berg) Rush: History of San Francisco Jewry led by legacy Emanu-El member Judi Leff
Free program via Zoom
Thursday, August 6, 11:00am – 1:00pm PST
Judi is passionate about San Francisco Jewish history and produced the 125th Anniversary of the Jewish cemeteries in 2014. She is also a duchess in the court of Emperor Norton; and enjoys writing, directing, and performing comedy. The Gold(berg) Rush is Judi’s occasionally irreverent, educational and funny (one hopes) take on the presence and impact of Jews in 19th and early 20th century San Francisco. This talk will focus on the importance of Temple Emanu-El in the formation of the San Francisco Jewish community.
Judi Leff is a San Francisco native who worked for 17 years at Congregation Emanu-El, where she was Director of Operations and Arts and Culture. She currently teaches Current Events and Memoir Writing at the San Mateo Union High School District Active Adults Program.
