Young Adult Movie Screening: Shiva Baby
2 Lake Street, San Francisco, CA
94118
All 20s & 30s are invited to join Emanu-El's Young Adult Community for our first movie screening in the Martin Meyer Sanctuary! We'll be screening writer/director Emma Seligman's Shiva Baby (2020). Stick around after the film for a short, lively discussion led by the Young Adult Leadership Committee's own Thaïs Miller. We'll talk about Jewish humor, recent controversies over the depiction of Jewish women in US media, and the representation of contemporary Jewish ritual and LGBTQ+ Jews on screen. There might even be goodie bags full of movie theater-themed treats to take home. Bring your mask, proof of vaccination, and your best friends!
Schmoozing starts at 3:15pm, and the film starts promptly at 3:30pm.
This is a program of Emanu-El's 20s & 30s Young Adult Community – thank you for respecting this age requirement.
