Jewish Journalism: New Realities - Jodi Rudoren, Editor-in-Chief of the Forward, in conversation with Rabbi Jonathan Singer

With antisemitism spiraling, protests filling the streets in Israel and shifts in Jewish communal life, Jodi Rudoren, editor-in-chief of the Forward, will join Rabbi Jonathan Singer for a candid ,wide-ranging in-person conversation about the issues, challenges and responsibilities Jewish journalists face today.

Exposing, documenting and understanding antisemitism is the Forward’s top journalistic priority. Rudoren, a former New York Times Jerusalem bureau chief, is building on the Forward’s 126 year legacy to create a 21st century digital news source that tells the stories of today’s American Jews in all their complexity and diversity. Driving conversations on the critical issues that divide us, the Forward is helping to deepen our understanding of what it means to be Jewish in the modern world.

Jodi Rudoren is Editor-in-Chief of the Forward, America’s leading voice in Jewish journalism, which reaches 1.5 million people each month across platforms. She spent more than two decades as a reporter, editor and digital innovator at The New York Times. Under her leadership, journalists at the Forward have won a record number of Rockower Awards from the American Jewish Press Association, as well as prizes from New York’s Deadline Club, L.A.’s Press Club, the Religion News Association and the Society for Features Journalism. Jodi writes a weekly newsletter, “Looking Forward,” that has received broad acclaim. She grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and lives in New Jersey.
