If you are interested in learning more about our Front Porch program, please contact Rachel Schonwetter.
The staff and lay leaders of Congregation Emanu-El are listening to you and hear that so many congregants are looking for more ways to find meaning and connect with others. We are on a journey and hope you will join us.
We invite you to join in our new initiative, Front Porch, small conversational groups which meet for 6, consecutive, monthly gatherings in congregant homes. The name Front Porch was selected for Emanu-El’s small group initiative because the sharing of everyone’s thoughts, ideas, and inputs are not only welcome but strengthen the group.
Each congregant identifies with Judaism in a different way and one is not better or “more Jewish” than another. Front Porch is meant to highlight different portals of entry by providing each group with a video filmed by one of our rabbis, followed by generative discussion questions. These discussions will create a unique experience for all!
Sacred Space – Mezuzah
Sacred Time – Shabbat
Prophetic Voice – Tzedek
