If you are interested in learning more about our Front Porch program, please contact Rachel Schonwetter.
The staff and lay leaders of Congregation Emanu-El hear you. We understand that so many congregants are looking for more ways to find meaning and connect with others. We are on a journey to achieve just that and hope you will join us.
We invite you to join in our new initiative, Front Porch. These small conversational groups meet for 6, consecutive, monthly gatherings in congregant homes. Each congregant identifies with Judaism in a different way and one is not better or “more Jewish” than another. At each Front Porch gathering your group will watch a short video filmed by one of our rabbis and then dive in to generative discussion questions. These discussions will create a unique experience for all! Examples of some themes are:
Sacred Space – Mezuzah
Sacred Time – Shabbat
Prophetic Voice – Tzedek
Money – Kesef
Legacy – L’Dor V’Dor
We hope these meetings are a time where all group members share thoughts and ideas. Everyone’s inputs are not only welcome, but strengthen each group. Questions? Interested in signing up? Read our Front Porch Small Group FAQ here and/or contact Rachel Schonwetter.
