8th Grade MIT (Madrichimot In Training) Program

MIT is a full-year, weekly commitment for students in 8th grade who are interested in learning to teach in our Youth and Family Education program. MiT attend classes in which they learn about child development, classroom management, learning and teaching styles, lesson planning and implementation, and deepen their Judaic knowledge. They will also spend time observing in our Youth and Family Education classrooms. Classes meet on Sunday mornings from 9:00-11:45 am. The 8th Grade Emanu-El Fellowship (TEF) class is built into this schedule. Students who complete the program will be eligible to become paid teachers in our program for the following school year. Completing the program includes regular weekly attendance (make-up sessions are required for excessive absences), preparing and teaching a lesson and demonstrating competence in the content areas presented.

Students must apply to the MiT program and acceptance is not guaranteed. We limit class enrollment to 18 students.
