Congregation Emanu-El provides various opportunities for members to remember their loved ones who have passed away.
It is Jewish tradition to commemorate the anniversary of a loved one's passing through tzedakah and other deeds of kindness and through the recitation of the Kaddish Prayer. To make a donation (known as tzedakah) in memory of/in observance of the Yahrzeit of a loved one please click here.
Congregation Emanu-El reads the names of loved ones before the Kaddish prayer at our weekly Friday night Shabbat Services. To view our upcoming shabbat schedule please click here. If for any reason you would like your loved ones name read on a different Friday please fill out the Kaddish List Addition or Change form or contact Sarah Torchin at (415) 750-7554 or by email at email@example.com if you need further assistance.
To assist our members in remembering the anniversary of a loved one's death Congregation Emanu-El sends Yahzeit letters four weeks in advance of the loved one's anniversary. If you would like to submit a new Yahrzeit to be added to your account so that you may receive a yearly letter, please fill out the Yahrzeit Addition form below.
PLEASE NOTE if you have had a death in your family and would like to notifiy Congregation Emanu-El, please do not use this form. Instead, please contact Terry Kraus at (415) 750-7552 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Congregation Emanu-El offers an opportunity to remember your loved ones yearly in the form of Permanent Memorial Book listings. This ensures that you and your loved ones will be remembered by the congregation in perpetuity. For more information on this option please contact the Development Office at (415) 750-7554 or email@example.com.
Every Yom Kippur Congregation Emanu-El publishes a Memorial Book for the Yom Kippur Yizkor Service. Ensure the names of your loved ones are included in the Memorial Book by filling out the Memorial Book form you receive with your Dues Commitment or via the form below.
