Young Adult Programming
Update – June 8, 2020
We can still be together while practicing social distancing (or as we like to call it, “physical distancing”)! Congregation Emanu-El’s Young Adults are excited to present you with a wide variety of virtual offerings.
You’re invited to our programs and events tailor-made for the Young Adult Community (20s & 30s- programming is open to all 21+) and our mid-30s & 40s group. Please check back often as we update this page with new events regularly.
Join or renew your Emanu-El membership at any time. Subscribe to the Young Adult Newsletter by logging into your MyEmanu-El portal and select My Settings from the drop-down menu at the top right corner where your name is listed.
Virtual Community Dinners
Friday, June 12 at 6:30 pm
You bring the food, we’ll bring the conversation! We are excited to invite all Jewish young adults from around the Bay Area to come together for intimate dinners – between 5 and 7 people – for virtual conversations over Shabbat dinner, from the comfort of your own home. While we are not able to be physically with our Young Adult Community, this will be a great opportunity to spend Shabbat “together” during this challenging time.
LGBTQ+ identified individuals are invited to join a special LGBTQ+ Pride themed Community Dinner. Register here.
Live-Streamed Late Shabbat
Friday, June 12 at 7:30 pm
You are warmly invited to experience one of the most popular young Jewish events in the Bay Area, only this time it’ll be from the comfort of your own home! You’ll find us live-streaming this special service led by Rabbi Mintz, Rabbi Rodich, and Cantor Attie from our Young Adult Community at Congregation Emanu-El Facebook page at
7:30 pm on Friday, June 12th.
Torah on Tap: Jews, Justice, and Fighting Racism
Tuesday, June 16 at 6:00 pm
In light of recent events, we are dedicating our first Torah on Tap session to learning about Jewish ideas of racial justice. Grab your beverage of choice (kombucha, beer, or whatever floats your boat!) and join Emanu-El’s Young Adult Community for a deep discussion guided by Rabbi Rodich. Each month we will dive into different topics — this month, we will discuss Jews, Justice, and Fighting Racism.
Emanu-El 30s/40s Group: A group for adults in their 30s and 40s, we regularly come together in meaningful ways to have fun, develop meaningful relationships, and deepen our Jewish identity through spiritual, educational, social, and service oriented programming. Most events are open to congregants and non-congregants, but certain events are congregant-only. For more information on events in this group contact Rachel Melman.
